Real Client Outcome

Less Body Fat. More Muscle. Better Digestive Health.

A breast cancer survivor in her 50s came to Home Dietitians unsure about what to eat while also experiencing gastric reflux and poor gut health. After approximately two months of personalised nutrition support, her InBody measurements showed meaningful changes in body composition.

Weight: 55.4 kg → 53.7 kg  ·  Approximately 2-month personalised dietitian programme

She Didn’t Just Want to Lose Weight

The client is a woman in her 50s and a breast cancer survivor. She wanted to improve her nutrition but was unsure which foods were suitable for her.

When she started, she was dealing with:

  • Gastric reflux
  • Poor digestive health
  • Difficulty knowing which foods to choose
  • A higher body-fat percentage
  • Relatively low skeletal muscle mass

The objective was not simply to reduce the number on the weighing scale. The dietitian focused on improving nutritional intake, digestive comfort and body composition while preserving and building lean muscle.

Before and After

Starting body fat mass is derived from the initial weight and body fat percentage, so it is shown as an approximate value. Phase angle is reported here as an InBody measurement only.

Why the Scale Doesn’t Tell the Full Story

Weight
55.4 → 53.7 kg
−1.7 kg
Body Fat
~20.7 → 16.7 kg
−~4.0 kg
Skeletal Muscle
18.5 → 20.1 kg
+1.6 kg

Although her total body weight decreased by only 1.7 kg, her body composition changed much more substantially. Her InBody measurements showed approximately 4 kg less body fat together with a 1.6 kg increase in skeletal muscle.

This is why progress should not always be judged by body weight alone.

A Plan Built Around Her Actual Life

  • Reviewed her usual meals and overall eating pattern
  • Identified foods and habits that appeared to aggravate her reflux
  • Adjusted meal composition and portion sizes
  • Improved appropriate protein intake to support muscle
  • Improved overall nutritional balance across her day
  • Reviewed progress and adjusted recommendations during follow-up

The Improvements Went Beyond the InBody Results

After approximately two months, the client reported that her gastric reflux symptoms had resolved and that her overall gut health had improved.

She also became clearer and more confident about what foods to choose as part of her everyday routine.

More Than Weight Loss

Successful nutrition care does not always mean pursuing the lowest possible number on the scale.

Less Body Fat
More Skeletal Muscle
Improved Digestive Comfort
More Confidence With Food Choices

The focus was on improving the quality of her nutrition and overall body composition — not simply making her lighter.
